Feeding Tip

Once the dog food is selected, the matter of getting it to the pooch comes to mind. Dogs should be fed on a fairly regular schedule, in a bowl that is easy to keep clean, in a place with no distractions.

Hannibal

Anderson's Hannibal de Kokomo is the male we chose to keep back toward our breeding program. Like all of our pups he is complete 3 generation AKC-FSS registered which means on July 1st he will transfer to full AKC. At 10 weeks old he is already displaying the qualities we had hoped would come forward from parents: Sandy and Vice. Like Sandy and her father (Lewis's Red Albert Houch) he also has a brown mask to go with his dark red coat. Like Vice and his father (Steury's Ted) he has big bone to go with his nice strong chest and sound body structure. When we selected Sandy and Vice to be the foundation of our program, we were expecting future offspring to possess qualities from both parents; Sandy's height and athleticism to go along with Vice strong compact body. So far it seems we have accomplished this, but to what extent only time will tell. At this time we couldn't be any happier with Hannibal's development!!! Birthdate - 2/7/2008.

Blaze

Once again we've hit the jackpot here at Anderson's Dogue de Bordeaux when we selected Blaze to be a part of our program. She is displaying positive features you look for in a Bordeaux. Like her sister Flame, she posesses huge bone and a deep chest to go along with her huge typey head and beautiful wrinkles. These dogs change so much from the time they are born, so when we had to make our pick while the pups were two weeks old, we had to look for little things that would help us to make a choice we could feel confident in. A special thanks to Raymond Smith at Heritage Bordeaux for his advice on what we should look for in a pup that early in age. With this new found knowledge we feel great about our decision to choose Blaze and what she to offer to our program. At ten weeks old she already weighs 26 lbs. and has excellent tempermant to go with her strong body.

Sandy

Sandy is our first bordeaux. She is a taller type of Bordeaux. Her mask is a light brown and goes perfectly with her red coat. At times her mask looks like a taupe color which some people say makes her look more unique than her sister. Her head is more round and has a lot of wrinkles, but you can still see somewhat of a trapezoid shape to it. Sandy has the perfect height and build and weighs around 120 lbs. She is very athletic and runs well. She is definitely what we are trying to duplicate and enhance with her offspring she produces. Birthdate - 3/1/2006.

Vice

Vice is a short and stocky, red male out of the Dorsdof Davil line. He weighs around 125 lbs. His head almost looks like a block at times and his face has no mask. His chest is very broad and deep; there is not much space between it and the ground. What we like about Vice is his rate of development which is allowing him to put on the right amount of weight so his bone can handle it. Before long we believe Vice will be a solid 145 lbs. that can really move. Birthdate - 10/3/2006.

Flame

Flame is our dark red female who is the grand daughter of 2006 DDBSA Nationals Best of Breed Sinbad de Legeane. At a solid and stout 81lbs. she is already our reddest Bordeaux. She is similar to Vice in that she is probably going to be a short and stocky type of Bordeaux. Flame is big boned for her size and has a deep, broad chest which is famous in Temple Felson lines. Her short, wide muzzle goes perfectly with her typey head with plenty of wrinkles to go with it. With her pedigree we believe she will improve our stock tremendously and are very much excited on the possibility of consistant good quality Bordeaux pups she and Vice will produce together!!! Birthdate - 6/4/2007.
